Shariful’s Story: Finding Peace and Stability through Homefinder UK - "They changed my life!"
27/02/2025
The housing crisis in the UK has left thousands struggling to find secure, affordable homes, particularly those over 55 who may face additional challenges in securing suitable accommodation. Many older individuals endure years in temporary housing, dealing with uncertainty and inadequate living conditions. Finding a safe and peaceful home can feel like an impossible challenge.
Homefinder UK is helping to change that by connecting people with suitable housing solutions beyond their local areas. Their services have been a lifeline for many, including Shariful, who found stability, independence, and a fresh start in a new community tailored to his needs.
Shariful’s Story
An excerpt from Shariful’s experience with Homefinder UK
“I was in London, under the council of Barking and Dagenham. I got recently divorced, then later I came homeless. I spoke to the council, and they said ‘at the moment in London, it’s very difficult. We couldn't manage to find you a property, but we can refer to Homefinder UK.’
Nowadays, it’s very difficult to find accommodation in London, it is a very tight situation. So it was difficult at that time to handle the situation in London. So, my solution is preferring to go to Homefinder UK.
My Homefinder UK case manager did everything within 15 to 20 days. My case manager asked me ‘do you want to go to a quiet place, where people are more than 50 years?’ I'm 55, So I said yes, but I didn’t have any idea that time it will work for me."
