We are pleased to share news about a huge win for Homefinder UK. Revive Scotland, a project launched last year in partnership between Homefinder UK and Wheatley Group, won the ‘Excellence in Housing Innovation’ category at the Chartered Institute of Housing’s (CIH) Scotland Housing Awards. The award ceremony took place at the end of October.
We could not be more proud to see Revive Scotland receiving such recognition.
Innovation in supporting domestic abuse survivors
Funded by the SFHA on behalf of the Scottish Government, Revive Scotland aims to help rehouse women who are homeless or threatened with homelessness due to domestic abuse. This is based on the success of Homefinder UKs Revive project in England, launched in 2019.
Through a responsive case management service, the Scottish branch of Revive has already supported 20 women, including 17 children, in accessing safe and suitable housing in a new area of their choice in Scotland. The project provided to these women not only a home but the chance to build a better life for them and their families, away from their abusers.
The team, led by project coordinator Andrea Williams, work tirelessly to provide tailored wraparound support, ensuring successful relocation and tenancy sustainment for victims and their children.
Delivering successful outcomes through partnerships
Above all, partnership is what has made Revive Scotland a success. It takes the collaborative efforts of Homefinder UK, Wheatley Group and over 150 partners across registered social landlords, local authorities, police and domestic abuse organisations to deliver excellent and innovative outcomes for the victims and their families.
Andrea said: “The partnership works due to the different dynamics both bring to make the project a success. It is a perfect collaboration.”
