Homefinder UK is wrapping up this year by achieving a huge milestone: we have successfully rehoused over 1000 households into permanent social housing! The number of moves has nearly doubled in the last two years, showing an impressive growth of our scheme, which now counts with over 50 member local authorities and housing associations.
A huge congratulations to Reading Borough Council, the homeless support charity, Launchpad, and Sanctuary Housing, who marked the 1000th move. The successful applicant, Simon*, was in temporary accommodation before receiving support from the Homefinder UK case management team to find his ideal home.
Commenting on the 1000th move, Deb Courtnage, Homelessness and Housing Pathways Outreach Officer for Reading Council, says:
