Homefinder UK has published its latest whitepaper, Moving Forward: 2025, highlighting the measurable impact of our national housing mobility scheme between 2022 and 2025.
Drawing on proprietary research from households who accessed the scheme, the report demonstrates how voluntary out-of-area moves continue to deliver improved safety, stability and long-term wellbeing for households at risk of homelessness.

- 31% of movers with Homefinder UK have been living in temporary accommodation before moving
- Local authority temporary housing savings of £14,000 per family or £8,000 per individual per year
- Total UK local authority savings of £3million per year in temporary accommodation costs
- 67% of movers agreed that moving out-of-borough had improved their lives
- 79% felt settled and happy in their new home and area
- 62% were rehoused within weeks or months
- 50% recorded improved mental health and emotional wellbeing
- 55% were homeless or at risk of homelessness before they moved
