According to statistics, one in four women will experience domestic abuse before the age of 50. These alarming figures highlight the prevalence of domestic violence in society and the critical need for support systems that help individuals escape abusive situations and rebuild their lives.
A Mother’s Journey to Safety
An excerpt from the applicant's case manager at Homefinder UK
"This applicant’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience and hope. She originally fled domestic abuse in another EU country and came to the UK seeking refuge, only to face similar challenges again. Determined to find safety, she moved between various refuges before being placed in a hostel while pregnant.
As her case manager, I was able to secure permanent social housing for her outside of London. She understood the need for a safer, more affordable environment for herself and her child, which has provided them with the stability they needed to thrive.
This story highlights the vital role of supportive organisations and the strength of those determined to build a better future."
